Your Audience

Everything you need to know about Followers and Subscribers!

Updated today

Every fan you reach on Fansly falls into one of three groups: followers, subscribers, or users. Understanding how each group works can help you effectively reach your target audience.

  • Followers are fans who want to stay updated without committing to a subscription. It’s free and a great way for you to keep casual viewers engaged.

  • Subscribers are your paying supporters, unlocking exclusive content you’ve chosen to share only with them.

  • Users are just browsing—they haven’t followed or subscribed (yet!).

The best part? You don’t need separate free and paid pages!

Whether you run a full pay-per-view page or offer free updates with locked posts, it’s all managed from one profile. If your goal is to grow your audience, keep fans informed, and establish a reliable income stream, we recommend enabling Following and/or Subscriptions on your page.

Followers

Followers are fans who have shown interest but haven’t subscribed. When someone follows your page, they’re signaling they want to stay connected, and it opens up opportunities for engagement.

Here’s what followers can do:

  • See any content for Followers.

  • Spot your content right on their Fansly homepage.

  • Get notified when you offer subscription promotions.

  • Receive email updates about your content.

  • Be included in your mass messages.

If someone subscribes to your page, they’re automatically counted as a Follower, too. And if their subscription expires, they’ll simply move back into the Follower group, meaning you don’t lose them entirely.

Not interested in allowing Followers? You can toggle it off by clicking the Follow button on your Plans/Promos page. That said, Following is a fantastic tool for retaining interest and keeping your community growing.

Even if all of your content is locked for subscribers, enabling Following can help you keep casual fans engaged until they’re ready to subscribe! ✨

Subscriptions

Subscriptions provide fans with exclusive content and offer you a steady stream of income. Whether you’re offering a single tier or multiple options with unique perks, subscriptions are flexible and totally customizable!

To manage your subscription settings, start on your Plans/Promos page on the Creator Dashboard.

Setting Up Subscriptions:

Anyone who visits your profile will be able to see the Subscription tiers and benefits you offer. To create your first subscription tier:

  1. Click Create Subscription Tier.

  2. In the first tab, fill in the following details:

    • Subscription Tier Name: The name that will appear on your profile.

    • Tier Color: Click the pencil icon to choose a color for the tier banner.

    • Benefits: List what fans get when they subscribe to this tier.

    • Included Tiers: If you're offering multiple tiers, consider including lower-tier benefits in higher ones.

    • Maximum Subscribers: Want to limit access to a tier? Set a cap here.

  3. Go to the Plans/Pricing tab

    • Set your base subscription price - this is what your subscribers will be charged each month.

    • Set any multi-month discounts - For example, you could activate the 3-Month Plan and apply a 20% discount. We'll recalculate the price automatically.

  4. Click Create

💡Tip Want to offer more than one tier? No problem. Just select 'Create New Subscription Tier' for each one you want to add. You can reorder them on your profile using the arrows beside each tier.

Pricing Subscriptions:

Beyond setting your base subscription price, Fansly gives you several flexible pricing options to help you attract (and keep) fans:

  • Public Discounts: Run limited-time sales to encourage new subscribers to join.

  • Multi-Month Discounts: Offer reduced pricing for fans who commit to 3 or 6 months up front. We'll automatically calculate the discounted total.

  • Private Offers: Send select users exclusive deals, like free or discounted trial months.

For more information on those options, click here.

💡 Tip: Many successful creators stick to a single subscription tier or none at all! There’s no one-size-fits-all model: we encourage you to experiment and find what works best for your content and audience.

Subscribers/Followers FAQs

How can I see who follows me?

Visit your profile! Below your name, click on "Followers." You’ll see your current followers, so you can track your growing audience and can even search for specific users!

How do I know who’s subscribed to me?

Head to your Subscribers page. There, you can view:

  • Who’s currently subscribed

  • Whether they have auto-renew turned on

  • When they subscribed

  • Which tier they joined

  • Who your expired subscribers are

If you have multiple tiers, this page can even be filtered by tier.

What’s the minimum and maximum subscription price?

You can set your subscription price anywhere from $5.00 to $499.99 per month.

How do I block someone—and what happens if they’ve subscribed or made purchases?

You can block any user by clicking the three dots near their name and selecting Block user.

When you block someone:

  • They can’t view your profile or message you

  • They’ll lose access to any subscription content

  • Any previously purchased media remains available to them

If you block a subscriber during an active subscription, they may be granted a refund, which will be deducted from your earnings.

Am I protected from chargebacks?

Yes, almost always. Fansly protects you from most chargebacks, though we do reserve the right to deduct earnings if your account receives an unusually high number of chargebacks compared to the general creator base or if the funds were received for content that violates our terms.

You can read more about our chargeback policy in our Terms of Service.

Is my legal name visible to my fans?

No! Fans will only see what you share on your profile.

Your personal and billing information is fully encrypted and never shared with fans. In fact, we don't even store your billing information: it's stored by our secure third-party payment processor. Fansly would never breach your privacy: you can review our full policy here.

Can I change my subscription price later?

Absolutely! You have control over your content and pricing.

To change the price, return to the Plans/Promos page and click Edit Subscription Tier. Adjust your Base Subscription Price, and any plans or promotions you’re running will be automatically updated as well!

💡Tip: When adjusting your price, make sure the new price aligns with the value you provide to your fans. Consider adding extra perks or content to justify the price change.
