Ready to go live? You’re in the right place!
Before proceeding, you’ll need to choose your broadcast software. While Fansly doesn’t endorse any specific platform, many creators use OBS Studio (Open Broadcaster Software), which we’ll reference throughout this guide.
Download OBS Studio
Check out their Quickstart Guide to get familiar with the setup
⚠️ Mobile user? No problem. Ensure your app supports RTMP ingest. Popular options include PRISM (iOS︱Android) and Streamlabs (iOS︱Android).
Once you’ve set up your streaming app, follow the steps below to go live on Fansly.
1. Generate Your Stream Key
Your Stream Key links your broadcasting software to your Fansly account. Think of it like your stream’s private passcode: it’s essential for connecting, and it should never be shared.
❗ If someone else gains access to your stream key, please reset it immediately.
To generate your Stream Key:
Go to your Fansly Streaming Settings.
Click Generate Stream Key.
2. Set Up Your Stream in OBS Studio
Inside OBS, navigate to Settings → Stream
Select Custom as your server
Enter both your Stream Server and Stream Key, available at your Streaming Settings
3. Set Your Stream Permissions
In your Streaming Settings, you can decide who gets access to your stream. These permissions enable you to control visibility and tailor the experience to your audience.
You can choose from options like:
Setting a ticket price
Limiting access to subscribers only
Restricting the stream to a private list
And more!
If you don’t choose any permissions, your stream will be accessible to any logged-in Fansly user.
📚 Need a deeper dive into how permissions work? Check out this article.
4. Customize Additional Settings (Optional)
Before you go live, you can fine-tune your stream with a few optional (but helpful!) features to personalize your broadcast and engage your audience.
Chat Room
Enable a chat room by selecting "Generate chat room". This allows fans to interact with you during the stream. You can set specific permissions for who can participate, such as:
Charging per message
Requiring a tip or an active subscription to chat
Limiting access to users who’ve purchased media
Allowing only users on selected private lists

Stream Goal
Set a Stream Goal by adding a title, description, and a fundraising amount. Once saved, your goal will appear during the stream and update in real time as fans contribute.
Stream Title
Choose a custom title for your stream to give viewers context and encourage clicks. This is especially useful if you're hosting themed streams or special events.
Lovense Integration
Fansly Streams support Lovense. To use it, make sure you have generated a Chat Room. When the Lovense Extension is installed, the Chat Room will automatically detect and send all tips to Lovense.

5. Start Your Live Stream
When setup is complete, open OBS Studio and click Start Streaming.
Once configured, you can simply return to OBS and press Start Streaming anytime you want to go live! 🤩
