Because Fansly operates within the U.S. and pays creators in U.S. dollars, the IRS requires verification that foreign creators are not U.S. citizens for tax reporting purposes. Submitting this form confirms your non-U.S. citizenship when providing taxpayer information.
Where to Submit Your W-8BEN Form
Go to your Creator Dashboard.
Select Tax Documentation.
Choose your Country as “EU Member State."
Two dropdown menus will appear — one for DAC7 and one for W-8BEN.
First, open the DAC7 dropdown, complete the required fields, tick the confirmation box, and click Submit Form.
Next, open the W-8BEN dropdown and enter your information.
Sign at the bottom by typing your name, and click Submit Form.
Tax Treaty Benefits
Tax treaties exist to prevent double taxation for individuals who may have income connections in multiple countries.
Example: A U.S. citizen living abroad or a foreign national living in the U.S. may be eligible for treaty benefits.
For most creators, this does not apply, as only your home country will tax your Fansly income.
💡 Pro Tip
Submit your W-8BEN Form as soon as possible after account creation to avoid payout delays or verification issues! 🤩
